5 GHz causes laptop WiFi adapter issues.
I'm working with the Qualcomm Atheros Qca61x4a WiFi adapter for laptops. It uses an M.2 socket and supports dual-band connectivity. When switching from 2.4GHz to 5GHz connections, the network becomes unstable for a brief period before the adapter crashes and needs a full restart. I've tried different drivers—both old and recent—as well as using an external USB WiFi adapter, which functions smoothly across both bandwidths without issues. What adjustments can help improve stability?
It's odd since Atheros typically performs well. You might consider replacing it with an Intel AX210 to significantly improve your WiFi connection.
