Hello everyone, I’m trying to figure out the optimal RAM setup for my 5950X. I want 32GB at 3600MHz and was thinking about using two sticks. I also read that having four sticks might offer some benefits with Ryzen processors. I’m looking into the G.Skill options you mentioned: F4-3600C16D-32GTZN 2X and F4-3600C16Q-32GTZN 4X8. What’s the best choice for me? Also, I don’t plan to upgrade RAM later.

For future plans, choose 4x8. If you need a larger size, opt for 4x16, though that's just my opinion.

Please verify if this is correct, as I might have misunderstood. For improved performance, opt for 2x16GB and consider upgrading later. Honestly, @Des.nb: if you're purchasing the 5950X, a 64GB option makes more sense since you'll likely handle heavy tasks and storage capacity will matter more than raw speed.

He’d need to actually handle the 16GB drives to confirm they’re dual-rank. The best guarantee comes from using four sticks, and 8GB units perform much better when you don’t require 64GB of RAM.

Some websites show this data clearly. Even better, ASUS motherboards provide a useful QVL PDF with official RAM details, including specifications. Just copy the exact RAM type using CTRL+C, search with CTRL+F, and paste with CTRL+V.

The Gamers Nexus video covered this topic, and I hadn't noticed the Hardware Canucks video before. I'm considering upgrading to 64GB but the same dilemma remains—4 sticks versus 2 sticks. Would you prefer 4 single rank preforms over 2 dual ranks? I'd appreciate another vote in favor of 4. I've also checked the QVL for my planned motherboard (Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero) and G.Skill's listings. The QVL for the F4-3600C16Q-32GTZN 4X8 version is limited to that specific configuration, while G.Skill's includes both versions. This shouldn't cause compatibility issues either way.
