4K vs 1440p
4K vs 1440p
You're facing a common dilemma with display settings. 4K ultra offers the highest resolution, but it demands more processing power. Medium-high balances quality and performance, while ultra prioritizes resolution at the cost of frame rates. Your choice depends on your priorities: visual clarity versus smooth gameplay. Consider testing both options to see which feels better for your setup.
Ultra 1440 means picture quality depends on resolution, not just detail settings
If you can't distinguish the details, it doesn't really matter. I'd prefer 4K med-high since the monitors display it natively for a clearer image, though you should test both options. You might also consider 1080p at ultra resolution, as it will scale well with 4K, while 1440p won't work.
Welcome to the forums! Stick to your own topics to stay updated on discussions. To address your query, the best approach is to test it yourself. What about overclocking your GPU? What are your system details? Unless you're using pixel doubling, you might want to skip that.
I favor 1440p ultra resolution. I have a 1440p and 4K monitor side by side on my desk, but for gaming I stick with a 144Hz 1440p display. The gap between 1440p ultra and 4K medium isn't enough to make up for the low refresh rate.
