This product offers solid performance but supports fewer LTE bands. It also connects straight to your router's WAN port.

It looks like AT&T is the only carrier available to me as a backup option.

Regarding service in your location or from a device perspective?

Essentially both options work well. I just placed an order for Netgear and noticed many cell carriers are located on T-Mobile towers, likely because Sprint merged with T-Mobile. It should be fine, and using AT&T or their prepaid plan could be a good backup.

Probable outcome remains uncertain. Sprint continues operating independently and expanding its customer base, while their pre-paid service "Boost" could face changes—possibly joining Dish Network instead of merging with T-Mobile.

You could buy a USB or PCIe modem and install it in a device like pfSense.

Today I purchased the Netgear 4G LTE router and the Dual WAN Linksys router. The Netgear is compatible with the AT&T Sim I bought in advance, which is great. My next goal is to link everything together and verify the failover setup. Thanks for your help and advice! I wouldn’t have managed it without you!
