4690k OC to 4.5
4690k OC to 4.5
Hello, considering upgrading your 4690k to 4.5 Ghz and asking if the Corsair Hydro H80i is sufficient.
The H80i seems to be an unnecessary expense for 4.5GHz systems, as more affordable options like the 212 Evo or Cryorig H7, and even higher-end ones such as the Noctua NH-D15, are available.

AIOs can also be noisy.

Some of their pumps might be quite loud with a lot of vibration.
Like the Noctua NH-D15, which is said to be very quiet, along with a few other coolers. You seem to be referring to the stock cooler, right? The AIO isn't too much of an overkill—it's a 120mm model, which will perform similarly or slightly better than some cheaper air coolers, but at a higher price.
To notice a real difference, you'd probably need a 240mm AIO, and the NH-D15 behaves like those, which is why it costs more. (I think)

Im not sure if I have enough space for a 240mm cooler... I know for sure i have enough space for the H80i
Yes, i have the stock fan that came with the CPU
I would recommend for you to get an air cooler to replace that stock fan, it will provide much better cooling capacity.
What case do you have so I can recommend a good fan for you to use. 120mm AIO coolers generally run the same as most coolers such as the 212 Evo etc.
What should I suggest you purchase? I'm aiming to customize my 4690k to approximately 4.5 GHz.
