4.4Ghz too much i5 4690K?
Hi!
The board ran well with the given specs and performed adequately under various loads. However, overclocking to 4.4GHz Core caused issues: Windows won't start at 1.20 and 1.21VCore, x264 crashes at 1.22VCore, and P95 performance drops significantly. It seems the steps are correct, but the stability drops after a certain voltage. You might want to test higher voltages gradually or consider using P95 as a benchmark. It’s not uncommon to adjust VCCIN or VCore in small increments for such changes.
You don't need to overheat your CPU unless you're being unreal about it. I wouldn't push my CPU too high, so keeping it at 4.3 makes sense because going to 4.4 would add unnecessary stress. Prime95 works well, and memory shouldn't be a concern.
I would proceed to increase it further to 1.25, though that would be the maximum. At 100c your CPU will slow down, so I’d reduce it by one level and settle at 4.3 for myself.
