I’m setting up a gaming rig for my son. The case fans are linked to a controller via a 4-pin male Molex power connector, and I’m using an ASUS TUF Gaming B550 board. How can I connect everything properly?

I think you're asking about controlling the fans using the motherboard. It might not work for all setups, depending on your hardware.

The fans need a remote or similar device. Plug the fan hub into the MOLEX connector, then arrange the fans in the specified order—bottom, middle, top, rear—and they should function properly.

It really depends on the specific fan controller included with the case. Some models come with a header and cable for RGB motherboard controls, while others don’t. There are also cases with a fan speed header for motherboard management, but some lack these features entirely. I’d bet that the included unit was the least functional—just basic remote or case buttons to adjust it, with no real control over the fans. Additionally, the fans in those cases usually don’t circulate much air.

Thanks for the feedback. I had to rely on my extra power source since the main one lacked connections to Molex pins.

It's fine to use a SATA to Molex converter since the fans and RGB won't reach the 50W power threshold of SATA power.
