In the US it’s completely sold out, with resellers offering prices up to $1500. It seems Amazon has made a few small shipments that disappear in seconds, likely due to bots. I got mine on launch by reserving for in-store pickup at MicroCenter. Realistically, healthy stock won’t appear until at least February, and even then retailers might charge 5%-15% above the regular price. The best tip is to grab a 2700x model for $130 and sell it for $80–$100 once the 3950X restocks at full MSRP or for a R9 3900X which offers similar multi-core performance to a 2950X while gaming closely to an i9 9900K.
It's notable that the 3800X is priced under its MSRP (US$399.00). Probably few people are searching for this specific CPU.
