These CPUs look promising for gaming at 1440p. With your RTX 2080, I’d compare their speeds and frame rates to see which performs better.

Hello! It seems the setup might vary slightly depending on the game. A 2080 at 1440p could help balance the differences between the two CPU choices.

Technically, the 9900K offers better performance, particularly with models like 9900KS or 9900KF; KS can push higher speeds, and KF may provide greater headroom. However, unless you're targeting frame rates above 144Hz, this difference won't be noticeable. Achieving 185 FPS versus 175 FPS doesn't matter much unless your monitor supports 240Hz or higher. For 1440p gaming, your GPU will likely be the main limiting factor. I suggest starting with a 3700X and upgrading later if you need more speed.

The 3900X isn't the best choice for gaming from a value standpoint. A Ryzen 7 3700X would offer comparable performance, and it would provide the same progression route ahead.

The 9900k display shines brightest in 1080p resolution, especially when paired with an ultra-high refresh monitor and a top-tier GPU.

Varies by game, but it seems to offer little real value. Check the 2070s 1440p performance for a closer idea. https://www.techspot.com/review/1897-ryz...g-scaling/

The 3900x offers improved performance for tasks beyond gaming, suggesting it’s a more versatile purchase. The 3950x isn’t worth the extra cost since the gaming performance difference is minimal. The 9900 KF remains the top CPU choice for games, and pairing it with an 2080 should work well. I’m currently using a 2700x and have an RX 570 to bridge the gap until the 3080 Ti arrives. I believe the 3900x is the better option and plan to buy it later.

in this https://www.techspot.com/review/1897-ryz...g-scaling/ shows that the 9900k and the 3900x doesnt have differences in most games in 1440p how you say that the 9900 KF is better from 3900x in gaming in 1440p?? when the performance in 1440p between these 2 is the same/?

The 3600 or 3700X models with solid DDR4 gaming speeds are essentially comparable unless you require more than six cores. The 9900K may offer slightly better performance, but overall gains are probably under 10%.
