Delidding isn't a major concern for Zen 2. It's built in such a way that damage is unlikely. der8aur ran some tests and saw a drop of about 5C. Based on my experience with open air and blower GPUs, I think the issue is mainly heat buildup and it affecting the cooler. The stock fans on the DRP4 seem inadequate. Upgrading to more powerful fans would help move the heat, though it would make things noisier.
Consensus reached. OP may attempt a test bench setup for his motherboard. GPU temperatures shouldn't affect CPU readings, making it simpler to verify DRP2 functionality. Examining cooler base and heat pipe temps during CPU load could reveal issues with heat dissipation or a faulty cooler.
I added another paste, the cooler master version, and saw a scratch on the cooler surface. It turns out the top mount was applying much more pressure than the bottom one, causing uneven stress. I installed a rubber pad beneath the screws (DIY) and reattached it. Temperatures were around 95 AVX load at 62% open case and 65% closed case. Up to 80 when Prime95 and Furmark were running, GPU rising to 67 (what? it was 72 before). Still handling a decent load, but it looks like a poor cooler. The issue seems to be faulty mounting. Case closed, thanks everyone! Another win for humanity.
