More cores could help with video editing, and since it’s a second-generation model, it works on a broader range of boards. For an ITX motherboard that fits the 3600 and 3600x, you’d likely pay another $100-150. That’s why I wanted to check if this upgrade is worth it or if the extra effort isn’t justified by the performance gains.
Which motherboard are you considering? Those compatible with a 2700X will likely need a BIOS update for a 3600. Those available in stores should already have the latest BIOS updates. Just confirm with the seller. The 3600 offers only about a 10% performance drop during editing, but it significantly improves gaming performance.
If you urgently need a PC, I’d consider this model but plan to upgrade later to the B550 and Ryzen 4000.
