Olá! Estou bem com o sistema atual (Ryzen 3700X), mas algumas despesas surgiram e estou considerando atualizar a RAM. Estou analisando dois modelos nas links fornecidos. Minha principal preocupação é se o B450 Tomahawk (não max) + 3700MHz funcionará bem com um RAM de 3600MHz. No site da MSI, diz que suporta até 3466MHZ (OC), mas acho que isso se aplique principalmente aos primeiros e segundos gerações do Ryzen com atualização BIOS para a terceira geração. O site G-Skill indica que os Neo Tridentz são para Ryzen 3000 em placas X570. Se for o caso, tudo deve funcionar normalmente. Qual opção você prefere? Crucial Ballistx é mais barato, mas já tenho experiência com as memórias da G-Skill.

From what I understand, tomahawk doesn't require a maximum of 3465MHz for RAM. It's not necessary to pin it down at that frequency.

It matches what MSI states online, though I think it could be linked to issues from the first and second generation Ryzen models.

It stays the same board. The latest update for Zen 2 is the 'max' range. Probably the non-max version stays at 3466. It might also relate to a B450 chipset (just a guess).

After checking various forums and the MSI website, I managed to figure out the answer. The memory controller is now built into the CPU, which sets the memory speed limits. For the B450 Tomahawk (non-max), you can find a list of compatible RAMs, including GSKILL options, but crucial ballistic chips aren't recommended. Likely, sticking with GSKILL would be best.
