I've noticed a YouTube video comparing 3600 MHz CL18 and CL16, highlighting better low-frequency performance with CL16 and only slight gains in top frame rate. Many discussions focus on average frames rather than noticeable jumps, but this clip suggests CL16 offers more stable 1% lows. In my searches, most talks mention smoother rates instead of big FPS boosts. Since I'm using a Ryzen 5900X and the benchmark was on a 10th-gen Intel setup, I wonder if switching to CL16 could really help. The $80 upgrade is modest, and I’m not planning major changes soon—so it might be worth checking if it smooths things out for me. Any insights would be helpful!

The C16 RAM from Samsung could outperform the C16 RAM from Hynix because memory speed depends more than just CAS latency.

It makes sense that not all kits will match perfectly. The benchmark video details you're missing likely contain key info. Can you find a manufacturer SKU from a QVL list? Your current kit is a 2x16GB Corsair LPX 3600 CL18, while the one you're comparing is the same model but upgraded to CL16. I'm also checking your CL18 (Micron single rank 3.44, 18-22-22-42 CMK32GX4M2D3600C18) and the new CL16 version (CMK32GX4M2K3600C16). It's unclear if either is optimal, especially regarding low-frequency performance where you're seeing issues.
