Hello everyone, I’m looking to assemble a compact work PC for my wife. Her job involves office tasks like web apps, Word, and Excel, but she frequently handles big spreadsheets and schedules on her screen. She recently got a 28-inch 4K monitor, which she enjoys, but her old Yoga Pro 3 (Core M) struggles with performance. Does anyone know if running a 3400G on twin 4K displays is feasible? Would it provide enough power for smooth operation? Alternatively, would it be better to upgrade her laptop with a Ryzen 1600 and a 1030/1050 graphics card? Since she doesn’t play games, this is purely for productivity. I’m worried about the sheer amount of pixels being processed. Thanks for any advice!

In theory it's possible, but real-world performance hinges on the motherboard and its available ports. Some budget boards only offer HDMI 1.4, which restricts you to 4K at 30 Hz. Opt for a board with HDMI 2.0+ and additional outputs like DisplayPort and VGA for compatibility. A 3200 series chipset should work well and helps you allocate funds toward better RAM instead of constant swapping or a subpar board.

Thanks for the idea. I'll make sure the motherboard's HDMI connection is at least 2.0 and includes a display port. Appreciate the confidence that the CPU can handle it, as long as the board provides the necessary connections.
