3300X vs 3600
3300X vs 3600
Which option suits you better for gaming and some productivity tasks? I can share my thoughts on why someone might prefer each, even though the details are still emerging. As for running Microsoft Flight Simulator, both models should handle it well based on current expectations. Let me know if you'd like more clarity!
I believe the choice hinges on your budget. I’d pick the 3600 model for its comparable clock speed and the fact that more cores help with background tasks like Spotify, Discord, Chrome, Steam, etc. It also comes down to how you define productivity—whether a higher core count pays off if it fits your usage patterns and justifies the price.
Also noted earlier, the 3300X performs similarly to the 3600 in gaming performance, but this doesn't consider background applications you might have running. For productivity, the 3600 clearly offers better results. If upgrading to a Zen 3 4600 is planned for later this year, now would be a solid choice. Otherwise, opt for the 3600. It should provide substantial value before you feel underutilized.
For low airflow situations I recommend 3300X, otherwise a 3600 is the better choice about 200% of the time. The decent cooler works well, and the X570 nc board will handle it nicely! :3
