I’m looking at mixing 2X8 gb 2400 DDR4 modules from another brand. It depends on how you set them up—whether you can fit all four in the available slots and if the brands are compatible. You’ll want to check the compatibility with your motherboard and ensure the memory timings match. If you’re unsure, it’s safer to stick with the same brand or verify the specifications before mixing.
It really relies on chance. Sometimes various RAM types and brands can function together perfectly, other times they might not boot at all or become unstable. Therefore, I’d just give it a shot and check if it works. Place one model in the slots that match the same color, so it would look like OLD1 NEW1 OLD2 NEW2 or the opposite.
