32GB 3600MHz C16 vs 64GB 3600MHz C18 for 5600X
32GB 3600MHz C16 vs 64GB 3600MHz C18 for 5600X
Hi everyone, I’ve been evaluating an upgrade for my PC’s RAM. The current 16GB setup is starting to hit limits, especially when running modded Minecraft or handling heavy rendering tasks in FL Studio—ram usage can reach 97% and even use up to 12.5GB. I’m considering two Corsair kits: one offers 32GB (2x16GB, 3600MHz, CL16, CMK32GX4M2D3600C16) and the other provides 64GB (3600MHz, 2x32GB, CL18, CMK64GX4M2D3600C18). The price gap is about £41 to $51.82. It seems the larger option looks appealing since it’s marked as compatible, though it isn’t listed on Corsair’s QVL or board compatibility pages. My main worry is whether the extra capacity will actually help with performance and if it could introduce latency issues, especially around 1% low frame rates. If not, should I stick with the 16GB configuration? I’m currently running at 3600MHz with my CL16 at 16GB without any speed drops, even with XMP enabled. Let me know your thoughts!
You’d need to be extremely dedicated to enjoy this, but the added space will likely matter more to you and you’ll definitely feel it when memory runs low.
Main schedules are less important when the secondary components are forced to unrealistic numbers by your motherboard.
