I have an R5 1600 processor, ASRock B450M HDV R4 graphics card, and Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200MHz RAM. Currently, my RAM is only reaching 2666MHz, and I’m thinking about boosting it to 3200MHz. Would it be safe and reliable to adjust the BIOS to that frequency? I’m unsure if the issue is with the motherboard or the CPU, or if it’s just an old setting from when the PC was built.
Enable the DOCP profile in the BIOS to allow RAM to operate at its advertised speeds.
The standard frequency is 2666MHz. If the profile was turned on, it might cancel your warranty, though expired warranties aren’t an issue.
It was operating at 2133mhz, not the 2666mhz I expected. After posting, it confirmed 2133mhz. My warranty likely expired since the PC is about four years old. When I checked online, some suggested the motherboard wouldn’t support it, while others thought it could. I just needed to verify if it would actually work.
