Hello everyone, I’m really tired of using Windows and want to give Linux a shot again. I’ve tried it before a few times, but always ran into issues. The problem I’m facing is with my setup: four monitors, a triple-wide display, and the fourth one on top. In Linux I can run each monitor separately as four screens, but I can’t play in triple width. I also know how to run everything together as one screen, though there’s a dead zone in the upper left or right. Neither of these fixes works for me. I’d like two separate, unlinked screens—one with three monitors and another with just one. Anyone have any ideas? I’d be happy to try anything, even if it’s not Linux. Thanks a lot! I’ll also share a photo of my rig so you can see what I’m working on, though it will be taken inside Windows.

You're likely onto something familiar—there probably is a method you've used before. Just remember, I'm here to help clarify it for you.

I'm optimistic too. I reached out on the L1 Techs forum, thinking an answer might be there. If I don't get one from either side, maybe it's time to invest in an ultra-wide XD.

Utilize xrandr to merge the last three screens into one virtual display.

Hello, your request should be achievable, though I haven't tackled anything more complex than a dual-screen configuration in Linux. The approach is likely independent of the distribution, but depending on your desktop environment, it might not work via the GUI (KDE Plasma usually handles this well). If you're lucky, it could be feasible there. Should your desktop settings hinder progress, refer to: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multihead (especially the sections on Monitor/Screen/Display; keep in mind those terms are X.Org terminology here – meaning combining screens into a virtual display). For more advanced topics, it's best to ask in a forum focused on your Linux distro, like Manjaro forums. This site is ideal for straightforward Linux questions from someone with two years of experience here. Distribution-specific forums tend to have more users, detailed discussions, and a stronger community.

I've spent quite some time scrolling through that wiki page, but nothing has worked yet. Found the command for a multi-monitor setup, though it didn't seem to function properly. I'll keep trying later tonight.
