Hey everyone, I'm testing the two RAM sticks in my PC. I suspect the green stick is 2400 MHz and the black one is 3000 MHz. After enabling XMP, both are showing 2666 MHz. From a budget perspective, it seems like swapping the green for another black might be worth it. Am I interpreting those speeds correctly? My system runs an R5 3600 with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti.

Purchase both items and acquire a suitable 2x8GB storage unit. No more mixing required.

Remove the specified timings and focus on the stable configuration. Adjust settings to match the 2400 stick's limits, then proceed with a full manual using the 3000Mhz parameters.

1.2v 2400 stick might require extra voltage and active cooling since it lacks heat spreaders. OP thinks it's a solid plan. Oof

It’s a concept you can explore, not just a written note. Anyone can search online for detailed guides on Multi-RAM optimization and follow along more easily than I did here. This is meant to be a starting point—understanding the subject firsthand is key, rather than just skimming through answers. If you’re serious about improving performance, it’s wise to research the pros and cons yourself before diving in.

The message is straightforward and clear. You’re suggesting a practical solution to avoid unnecessary adjustments. It’s about efficiency and simplicity in setup.

Certainly purchasing the identical model as the black version achieves the same outcome.
