my psi is 500w and the 8470d handles my video outputs on my mbo because i don’t have any other cards.

Consider using http://www.wagnardsoft.com/ DDU. Restart it in safe mode and remove all drivers (AMD and NVIDIA). Then reboot again and reinstall the Nvidia drivers.
