It’s unclear whether this concerns a legal issue, but if a moderator needs to remove it, please do. I’m not aware of any rules I shouldn’t follow. Are those inexpensive "used" Windows 10 keys valid and permissible? If yes, where would you consider the most trustworthy source to obtain or purchase one?

You're paying too much? Check out a bit and you'll notice smaller amounts here. Selling your own license key is totally fine, but selling keys bought with institutional licenses outside your organization isn't allowed. Some keys are OEM or personal, and Microsoft can't verify if they were used properly within the license terms.

Moved to Windows *** No legal or illegal point exists here, at least not as you might assume. The main issue is how keys are obtained initially. Are they obtained through illegal means like stolen or counterfeit payment methods, or is the seller breaking sales laws (such as taxes)? That’s the only real argument. "Legitimate" is questionable too. Most keys are genuine from Microsoft, but there could be evaluation or enterprise/education keys mixed in. These are valid keys but only for approved use cases. If Microsoft discovers this, they can identify the specific batch. There’s a small chance keys get blacklisted and stop working, though the risk remains low.

For clarity, there’s no specific recommendation—just general guidance to help you decide. If you’re in the US, consider local resources or experts relevant to your situation.

Search ebay, locate a reliable seller, request warranty if the key is faulty.
