2x8 GB or 4x8 GB in OC?
2x8 GB or 4x8 GB in OC?
I understand everyone says you'd see improved results from 2x8 GB, but I hadn't considered it when purchasing the RAM. I wasn't interested in overclocking before, and my previous build was over a decade ago. I was always too busy to dedicate time after my last setup. The memory kits I bought are: two 8 GB modules at 1.35V, a 2x8 GB CL15-17-17-35 at 1.35V, paired with the Ryzen 5 3600 and GPU. I'm currently running them at 3200Mhz CL16-18-18-36 at 1.45V, and think it's stable at 1.4V too. My question is, would pushing 3400Mhz from the CL15 kit help? Or would using 3400Mhz on both kits with similar latency give better performance? Thanks. EDIT: MOBO is a Gigabyte X570 UD Rev 1.0
The memory should perform well at 1.5v. Appreciate the feedback!
The storage only supports a maximum speed of 3000Mhz. Additionally, I recently attempted 1.4v and experienced a crash within two seconds after launching Prime using those settings and frequencies.
