All timings remain consistent, so results will match. I’d likely choose the 2x16GB setup for improved compatibility. However, most 2x16GB bundles aren’t confirmed to be dual-rank, so be mindful you might not receive a dual-rank unit.

The pattern shows modules at fixed capacity moving from dual to single rank over time. I believe this shift began about two years ago with 16GB modules transitioning. Back in 2015, even 8GB DDR4 units were dual rank. Determining a module's rank can be tricky because they often share similar names and don’t clearly specify configurations.
