Hello everyone, I'm trying to resolve a tricky problem with my Adata XPG Spectrix S40G SSD. I purchased it recently and initially installed it without issues, but soon Windows no longer recognized it. After installing the Adata/XPG toolbox, the drive disappeared entirely, appearing only in BIOS. It still shows in Device Manager, so it seems the issue lies with Windows itself. I found an online suggestion to switch the SSD slot to PCIe 3.0 in BIOS, but that triggered a critical error and forced me to remove or reset the setting. I'm unsure what to do next. Here are my details: CPU – Ryzen 5 5600X @ 4.2 GHz; GPU – TUF GeForce RTX 3070 V2 OC; RAM – 8GB Kingston Fury; Storage – 1TB Samsung Evo 970+, M.2 NVMe, 240GB WD Green SATA, 1TB WD WD10SPZX HDD; Power supply – 650W Gigabyte P650B; Motherboard – TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS (Wi-Fi), BIOS 3202; OS – Windows 11 Home 64-bit.
I’m looking for a more effective approach since I believe one exists. Have you considered changing the drive layout in Linux? I’ve found disk management easier with Kali than with Windows.
I'm really struggling right now. I tried Kali but got an error about the APST feature not setting, which sent me to the command line. When I gave up and switched back to Windows, it took a long time and now appears in Device Manager and Disk Management as RAW. I'm trying to format it to check if the issue is real or just a visual problem.
It appears the issue isn't resolved. Formatting or removing the RAW volume isn't working as expected, and SSD Toolbox doesn't recognize the drive while Device Manager and Disk Management do.
