Hackintosh functions flawlessly with AMD processors from the FX era onward. Setting it up demands extra effort since a custom kernel is needed, but once operational it behaves normally in any other hackintosh setup. I’m currently using 10.14 Mojave on a Ryzen chip.
I'm surprised you haven't encountered AMD chips in macOS yet! Could you share which version you're running? That way I can help you better.
Up to High Sierra a special kernel was needed, the steps were this way... Make boot drive, transfer custom kernel to it, start from boot drive, format hard drive, install, restart to reinstall, use terminal to move custom kernel to disk, restart and switch back to boot, then add boot loader. After Mojave the developers fixed the issue by adding patches to config.plist, so everything functions without extra steps. But Mojave still has issues—it doesn’t support 32-bit apps. Absolutely correct. It's essential to switch to AMD. The Radeon VII functions perfectly on 10.14.5.
Interesting point about macOS limitations. The platform doesn't include DirectX or Vulkan, yet ray tracing is still available. This suggests alternative methods are being used to achieve the effect.
