You're weighing two options for your new hardware: a brand-new 2700x or a refurbished 3600x with a warranty. Both are priced at 170€. For your motherboard, you're considering MSI B450M MORTAR MAX, ASROCK B450 Steel Legend, or MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA, depending on whether you go with the newer 3600x model. You're also expanding your skills in Unity, Blender, Adobe, and other game development tools, and you're ready to dive into game development when you can. You have an RTX 2080 AMP! and 16GB RAM at 2666MHz, though you mentioned you might upgrade the RAM next year.

I’d favor the 3600 unless your system can fully utilize all eight cores of the 2700 at peak performance. Often it works better for speed even with two fewer cores.

I own the 2700 and it operates without issues, but I’d align with Aragorn—opt for the 3600 unless your setup involves multi-core software or streaming.

Request a 3600 unless a favorable offer is available for 2700x.

The 2700x costs 170€ as new, while the 3600x is 175€ if you're okay with used or 220€ if brand new. I can only go up to 180€, so the 3600x in new condition isn't available.
