Noted the price dropped to 150 for 1900x. Decided to compare 1900x at 150 versus 2700x at 190 for better value.

also consider power usage, especially if you're in an apartment with a fixed electricity rate. You might enjoy threadripping, but keep in mind you'd probably need multiple RAM sticks—like four good 8GB units with 2700MHz for better performance.

That's the first-gen version with the most glitches, no one likes that chipset, there are serious risks if you use a different motherboard...
