2700x Normal Temperature Range for 2700X
2700x Normal Temperature Range for 2700X
Hello, I changed from a Powerspec G162 to a G705 desktop. Both have 2700X, but the G705 operates about 10°C warmer than my previous setup (both were stocked). My older machine ran between 32–38°C, while the newer one stays around 46–52°C for normal use. I’m curious if there’s a reason for this temperature difference or any performance impact. Thanks ahead!
Hello there. It’s tough to say since I’m not sure if you checked CPU speeds and voltages on the old system. Do you still own that PC? Also, it seems various motherboards and BIOS versions might be delivering different power levels depending on their default settings. There’s also a possibility the boards used unique fan configurations. You’ll need to dig deeper into these details before we can make any educated guesses online.
I think the additional warmth comes from the Radeon RX 5700XT. Perhaps the cooling fans aren't running because the GPU temperature stays low enough. The RX 580 model always had fans active. It's hard to say for sure now, but those readings seem acceptable.
Alyen, your explanation fits well. After reviewing the details, I noticed the temperatures stabilized around 63 degrees during moderate workloads, which matches what you mentioned about base temps being high due to 5700xt fans running while handling daily tasks. Once they started spinning, things returned to normal.
