2600 ???

Hi all, I'm looking into building a new pc in the next few weeks and have a £500 budget. The current system I have spect out is to be used for gaming, 3d cad and the Adobe suite. The specs are as follows - R5 2600 - £108 Asrock b450 steel legend - £86 16gb 3600 cas 16 crucial ballistic RGB - £89.99 500w evga PSU - £55 Pre owned gtx1070 -£100 Phanteks p300 - £50 1tb segate barracuda - £34 500gb 860evo - already owned - £0 I'm still not sure about the CPU, the 2600 is kind of slow and the 2700 is a slight step up. But then there is also 3rd gen... Any recommendations are welcome for CPU choice and other parts of the system! Many thanks, Hmm...

If you're open to a 2700, consider the 3600. It offers roughly 20-30% greater performance for a higher price. Your motherboard might need a BIOS upgrade.

You're looking for a 1070 engine used at around £100. It might be available from classic car parts suppliers, online marketplaces, or local salvage yards.

I own the 2600 and a comparable Mobo (Gigabyte B450), and it seems in good condition. For a faster clock speed, you can reach up to 3.8Ghz in the BIOS, and some users have even achieved over 4GHz on the stock cooler.

I understand it's not exactly 100 pounds, but at 165 that's a reasonable price, particularly for an ITX setup.
