I own a 5950x and Taichi x570 board. Previously, 16x4 ran smoothly at 3600MHz. I bought a couple of 2x64 kits to test 128GB at that speed. After a few days, some programs stopped responding and the system slowed down—even the task manager became unresponsive. I checked with two sticks; the QVL mentioned the highest 32GB stick could only handle 3200MHz. Another post reported a similar problem, where performance dropped to 2666MHz. Anyone using 2x32 or 4x32 memory on an x570 board can run these at 3600MHz or should you adjust your settings?
4 sticks is pretty hard to get up to speed. Seems like you got lucky with 4 x 16. Very common issue. Just lower the MHz until it runs stable.
