The NICs are designed to work with all 10GBE switches at their full 5GbE speed, but some switches don’t explicitly list 2.5/5GbE support. It usually depends on the switch’s documentation—most don’t mention it, so you might need to confirm directly or expect auto-negotiation to 1GbE if unsupported.

Ensure the device meets the base T requirements for optimal performance. Most recent 10GbE switches handle this, though some older models may not. Which model are you checking?

Evaluating the HPE officeconnect 1950 with a 12xgt port since the Aruba supports 10GbE copper remains quite costly. If it doesn’t meet 2.5/5GbE requirements, I may have to look for alternatives in that budget range.

They don't appear to back L3 support. Would you like capabilities similar to the one mentioned? I think something like this product from Amazon might fit: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-10-Gigabi...B0787TKSQ9

The switch line looks promising. The 24-port multi-gig model matches the price of the 12-port HP model you mentioned. We don’t require any L3 capabilities from this device; what we need from the console is the ability to configure link aggregation between two ports, which appears to be supported.
