20MHz/40MHz/80MHz frequency range
20MHz/40MHz/80MHz frequency range
On your router, you have several channel width settings: 20MHz, 20MHz/40MHz, 20MHz/40MHz/80MHz. For 5GHz, it's better to choose the default 20MHz/40MHz or the 20MHz/40MHz/80MHz option instead of using 80MHz.
Devices connect best when speeds match as close to 80Mhz as possible, especially with MU-MIMO support. Higher frequencies like 160Mhz work only if the router is compatible.
For half a dozen devices on a 5G connection, MHz more closely relates to data speed than actual bandwidth. Consider it as capacity rather than pure throughput.
To some degree, increasing the frequency to around 80MHz would be ideal, offering the greatest compatibility and performance for quicker devices that support it.
