You can add another HDD boot drive and set it as a secondary boot option in your BIOS settings. Look for options related to boot order or advanced boot configurations, then select the new drive to ensure it starts when you power on your PC.

When the PC starts, check the lower left area. It will display instructions such as press ___ for BIOS and ____ for the boot menu. Choose the one you need immediately. After that, pick the correct drive.

A hot-swap bay would be useful. Simply connect the device you wish before turning it on. Pressing "F11" will open the boot menu. You might see a boot screen offering options, but I just select "F11".

If you're aiming for a polished setup, consider adding grub, the Linux bootloader used to pick the operating system. There might be alternatives to install grub outside of Linux, though it would simplify things if you stick with Linux. You'd have to have all possible OS versions ready at installation time so grub can recognize them. In short, set up Linux first and use grub as a reliable, user-friendly option.
