Hi, I saw these two motherboards and still have some questions. I picked the Black Asus ROG Strix B450-F for £100 and the White Asus ROG Strix B550-A for £170. The big point is comparing the B550-A to the B450-F. Since I went for a white build, it’s a full white design for an extra £70. I’m curious about its pros and cons compared to the B450-F and which one performs better. Thanks!

B450 covers all processor generations, though it might lack newer CPUs unless Asus releases a Beta BIOS—rumors suggest they won’t. The B550 offers Zen 2 and beyond, making it a stronger option for upcoming high-performance chips.

I’d likely go with 2700x, 3600x or 3300x. Not aiming for an upgrade.

For a 3300x setup, look for a motherboard that supports high-end overclocking and robust cooling. Consider models with ample RAM slots, PCIe 4.0 support, and strong thermal management to handle the increased heat from the additional components.

B550 model for the 3000 line. For the 2700X, a B450 might be a more suitable pairing.

If you choose either the 3300x or 3100 and match it with the B450, it should work fine.

Sure, that sounds fine. As long as the boards with the bios are ready for 3000, it should work.
