Hello. The laptop was initially sold with a single 16GB stick, and it has two RAM slots. For the HP ProBook G7 445 Ryzen 5 4500U, the maximum RAM capacity is typically 16GB. Using two 8GB modules would provide more memory than one 16GB stick, potentially improving performance.

when there are two slots and one holds 16GB, it supports a configuration of two slots totaling 32GB at minimum

In general, yes—using two sticks provides dual channel, effectively doubling memory bandwidth.

Is there a reason for offering just one stick, making upgrades more expensive? Will you observe the pattern?

Sure, but consider adding another 16GB stick and aiming for 32GB total. Make sure it matches the same speed so performance isn't limited by the slowest component.

Doesn't match the specifications listed on the HP website, though I think you're correct. I plan to include an additional 16GB of RAM once I'm paid, just to test if it reaches 32GB.

In this scenario, I must purchase two 16GB RAM modules at 3600MHz. The computer was originally equipped with one 16GB RAM at 3200MHz.

Consider 1x16 GB 3200 MHz alongside your current unit. Keep latency in mind—such as CL16—and ensure it aligns. Mixing models might result in the lowest shared speed and typical latency. Ideally, use CPU-Z to verify specifications. Even if a 32 GB version isn't available, the CPU could handle up to 64 GB.
