While each vendor may store these details in a unique part of the BIOS, the overall approach remains consistent. A common guideline is that default memory timings tend to stay reliable most of the time, particularly when clocks operate at lower speeds than the RAM specifications. For example, my main workstation uses 18-22-22-42 timings and 3600MHz, but I’m limited to 18-22-22-42 at 3400MHz due to CPU memory controller limitations. The recommended practice is to set the timings to a lower frequency like 2400MHz, run a Memtest, gradually increase by 100MHz until stability breaks, and then return to the highest stable frequency.
