Yes, most games work well even with 8GB, so 16GB should suffice in the future, especially with multitasking. Only specialized users require more than 16GB, and 32GB seems unnecessary for a gaming setup right now. Given the current RAM shortage pushing prices up, it might be wiser to avoid buying extra unless absolutely needed.

What are the remaining system specifications? Have you bought anything yet? For now, with gaming and multitasking, I recommend 16GB at 3200MHz. The additional RAM cost isn't justified since it won't be used in a gaming PC right now—unless you're working on 4K video editing. I've only used 16GB and never seen it fully utilized. When you need more than that, DDR5 might come out, while DDR4 could become more affordable.
