I purchased my motherboard (ASRock B450 ITX AC). I was expecting the R5 1600 AF for its 6 cores/12 threads at around $159.90, but the shop owner mentioned the 3600 will be available soon and offers better performance and value. They say it also has 6 cores/12 threads but costs about $249.90—almost $100 more. I’m only doing light video editing for baking videos, esports gaming, and homework. Will the 3600 fit with my GTX1660 if I buy it? Or should I save the extras and choose the 1600 AF? The last few units are reserved by the owner.

The definition of light varies. In reviewing the 3600, it could impact the 3300x design. The 1600af has its own benefits, but the 3300x offers advantages over the 1600af. Improved IMC and IPC counts, plus a stronger FPU are notable factors.
