So, I gues this might not be news but I wonder. My Core i7 13700kf seems to run fine but when pushing it the temps rise to 100C in a few seconds and stay there while the fans scream for mercy. I haven't done any overclocking. I heard something microcode something update but not sure how where to get it? MB is Asus ROG STRIX B760-I GAMING WIFI Cooler is Noctua NH-U12A Thermal paste application and heatsink seating has been checked to be good. Cinebench R23 gives a multicore score of 30300pts. The computer runs fine, just seems to ramp up CPU agressively. Will it get cooked?

Suggest a full immersion cooler, such as the Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer III 360, to cool your CPU effectively.

Modify the microcode in the BIOS of your motherboard. It’s important to update the BIOS promptly because there’s a reported problem where 13th and 14th generation CPUs may overheat by asking for excessively high voltages, causing frequent blue screens. I support the suggestion to upgrade to an AIO for a 13700k.

I wonder if ASUS has dropped anything other than a beta BIOS for my motherboard. I won’t rely on them with a beta release. Regarding AIO, I’m not keen on forcing it into the case and dealing with all the extra complications. I think I made a hasty decision about my CPU—just because my old i7 (930) was there didn’t mean I should stick with it. I also don’t like BIOS updates; the last one over 20 years ago broke the board completely. I managed to fix it then, but I doubt that’s possible now. If the only choice is a damaged CPU, well... that’s not ideal.

AIOs should simplify things for now, but if not, consider a dual-tower Thermalright or Noctua cooler. At 13700K any cooler will help. Make sure the BIOS is updated with CPU Microcode 0x12B to avoid issues.

Reduce the voltage to lower power consumption.
