Hey, I'm trying to figure out which option offers better value. Also, I'm a bit puzzled about raising the base frequency of the 11400f—it seems low. Is it usually needed to overclock it, or does it adjust automatically? If it does, do I need a specific motherboard to make it work? I was thinking about something around $150 AUD, and I'd appreciate a recommendation.

Use the TPL menu to set turbo long, short, and pp0 to 99999, move all sliders to the right, enable clamp lock, and apply power limits. Press the turn on button to confirm changes. Expect slightly reduced performance compared to lower-end models, but it won’t be noticeable. For effective cooling, install a high-quality tower cooler such as the Se 224 XT or Freezer 34.
The options with the best balance for both board and CPU are the 11400F and 10400F models. The 5600x offers strong performance but its higher MSRP limits its value, while the 11400F provides a more competitive price-to-performance ratio. The 10400F matches the 11400F in performance but lacks the latest improvements found in Rocket Lake. All three share similar characteristics, excelling in low latency and high-speed dual-channel memory setups. For Intel users facing turbo boost restrictions, throttlestop is a lighter solution, whereas Intel XTU offers a more robust approach to bypassing those limits and boosting power settings manually. Most boards also feature multicore enhancements that remove restrictions but can cause overheating, often reaching 85-90°C without proper cooling.
For the 11400 model, you should get a board capable of handling higher power levels, which usually requires a bigger investment. The 5600x should work with most B450 or B550 boards without sacrificing performance.
