They say the IHS and die are better now. I hope temperatures stay above 85°C during 70% usage since I don’t handle any rendering or video editing.

The 3950x seems to match the 10980xe in terms of capability. until we have official benchmarks, we should keep this in mind. based on what's seen online, the 24-core chipset is expected to be more expensive. there are reports suggesting it might be thicker, around 30-50% more so, possibly due to Intel's design choices for the 9900k. some sources even mention it being compared to toothpaste in certain discussions.
