Hi All, Hoping someone has any ideas on the below issue as I've run out of things to try! I've just switched to a 10900k & z490 Taichi - everything is "fine" - except TVB simply does not function. I am trying to figure out if this is a bios bug (latest bios 1.50) - or something else. Essentially - it will not boost past 5.1 - ever. This is when running single core tests e.g. CBR20 or using HyperPI. I've tried the usual suspects - bios resets following upgrade, various settings within the bios (interestingly it seems TVB is off by default in this bios) - including messing around with the power limits & specific core settings. It's not a temperature issue as it never goes over 40deg C during the single core tests (Using a Eisbear 360) - and shouldn't be a power issue as using a HX1000i (although to be honest I'm not sure if this can even be an issue / how to check it!) It's got me scratching my head a little - (and for that matter ASRock's EU support is a bit mythed as well - although they don't have a CPU to test with so are "middle manning" to Taiwan) Any ideas?

Hey there! Lots of ideas, but it seems like nobody's paying much attention. You might want to keep an eye on updates for similar problems or stick with trusted brands like MSI Gigabyte and Asus.

It seems many MSI and Gigabyte boards exhibit unusual behavior, so a BIOS update might be necessary to resolve the issue.

You're not a big fan of ASRock? HWInfo says they also tried in Linux with various tools. Thanks everyone—I thought it might be linked to the current BIOS setup!
