The performance issues stem from the game's design and limitations. GPUs can handle high frame rates, but this game may not be optimized for them, leading to subpar results. It's likely a combination of technical constraints and development challenges rather than just the hardware itself.

The game performs poorly on your PS4 when you're carrying a torch. It seems the optimization isn't great, even though it's not the most polished title.

ARK isn't optimized well. It's essentially full of junk. If you're looking for something similar to ARK but much better, consider Rust. It performs well and has a healthier community.

I believe this game falls into the category of those that invite long, solo play sessions.

Rust offers a fun experience with friends, emphasizing trust and interaction. It's a solid game that delivers quality, contrary to initial doubts. My skepticism faded when I saw it being enjoyed by others, especially my friend who bought it for me. Now I've spent over 300 hours playing!

It's reasonable to say a game can perform well even if it doesn't run at its intended frame rate. Optimization varies by hardware and visual quality. High-quality, photorealistic graphics with impressive lighting and physics might be well optimized, while lower quality visuals would indicate poor optimization. I'm unfamiliar with the game and would need to experience it in full resolution to make a judgment. It seems both GPUs are handling significant usage, suggesting SLI is functioning adequately. The optimization level likely depends on the game itself rather than just hardware upgrades.

If it's from before its time, it could really be a letdown :///

It's a poorly optimized game and you're attempting to run it at 4K resolution.
