1080Ti Power Target Dropping
1080Ti Power Target Dropping
Hey there!
I'm dealing with an ASUS Strix 1080Ti and facing some overclocking problems. When I set the voltage to 100% and power target to 120%, after about 20 minutes of gaming or testing, the power target drops to around 60% and my FPS drops significantly. The GPU stays under 70°C with no overheating. Adjusting settings only works after a reboot.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hey!
I was about to ask my own question; I just hope the OP won’t mind joining this thread because it’s new and I’m facing the same problem.
I received a used Aorus 1080 Ti. I can overclock it to around 2088MHz core and it performs well in Superposition (max 6465 so far), achieving nearly 130% power. But after a few benchmarks, the power target drops during the run. Clocks, voltage, and temperatures remain unchanged, yet power and frame rates are halved. I’ve tried various voltage curves; I increase fan speeds since noise isn’t a major concern—temperatures stay under 70°C.
Here’s my setup:
Asus z97 Pro
i5 4690k @4.5GHz
16GB DDR3 @2400MHz
PSU: EVGA 750 G2
BIOS is the latest for both MOBO and GPU
Drivers version 416.34
Could it be that my GPU is faulty? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!
