Looking for feedback on the 10600k I chose for my girlfriend. She enjoys photo editing, gaming (Sims 4, Minecraft, Stray, Valorant), and streaming. I’m wondering if this CPU can handle both gaming at 1080p and streaming smoothly—especially with overclocking. She wants to maintain around 60fps in games while streaming. The GPU is an older model that will be upgraded soon, so focus less on it.

The setup with the 12400f board costs roughly equivalent and you’re not limited to an outdated system. For streaming, use a GPU that should manage it smoothly at 720p; the GPU will likely be the fastest option. The 10600k seems outdated to warrant such a high price, especially since Intel's 12th generation provides a notable improvement and even the Ryzen 5000 series will surpass it. For streaming, an RTX graphics card would allow nvenc to capture high-quality video without taxing the CPU. In the meantime, if you own an RX 570, an i5 can manage both streaming and gaming smoothly. The 10600k seems outdated to warrant such a high price, especially since Intel's 12th generation provides a notable improvement and even the Ryzen 5000 series will surpass it. For streaming, an RTX graphics card would allow nvenc to capture high-quality video without taxing the CPU. In the meantime, if you own an RX 570, an i5 can manage both streaming and gaming smoothly.
