Hi there, Since the latest Windows update was installed (Windows 10 Pro 1809 OS built 17763.55), my download manager folder was completely emptied, even after cleaning the desktop twice. This is unusual and seems like a serious issue. Do you know if anyone else has experienced this problem? How can I fix it? Thank you.

Appreciate the clarification, but this action is part of Internet Download Manager's design.

I completely missed this. I probably read about it a couple of weeks back, but that’s already a lot for my brain. It seems like a simple choice, since everyone I know saves files in the download folder.

IDM arranged the files by their categories, and I retain them in their original state. These folder types help me include downloads from other programs and copies from my external drive. Windows removes folders rather than files, which is why it deletes the program files meant for sorting. Thank you for your explanation.

This feature is included in Storage Sense. When activated, it performs this task. It can turn itself on if Windows detects limited disk space. Navigate to Start > Settings > System > Storage > Storage Sense (toggle on or off). Clicking the link labeled "Change how we free up space automatically" lets you adjust Storage Sense settings.
