You're experiencing high RAM usage on a single 16GB stick, especially when idle. It seems processes like IDM, Windows core, and audio drivers are consuming most of the memory. Despite adjusting registry settings, the issue persists. Consider checking for background applications, disabling unnecessary services, or using memory profiling tools to identify the exact culprits.

Limit the CPU speed. Add another stick of 8 or 16GB RAM for improved performance. In my view, single-channel versus dual-channel offers about a 30% difference. Chrome works fine; just switch to Firefox or another browser if needed.
Without Chrome it remains largely unchanged. Yesterday the performance was around 35% even when Chrome and other apps were running in the background. I’m planning to get a new stick soon, but right now I’m thinking about reinstalling Windows to check if that resolves the problem.
