Hey everyone, my FPS dropped to around 120, which is just a bit low. The 0.1s fluctuations are noticeable and might be causing some stutter. I think it’s not due to background programs—VBS disabled, Windows Defender off, CPU usage stays normal. Sometimes the game hits 80% CPU, especially when it’s running at higher settings. It seems like the GPU is handling it okay but the CPU could be a bottleneck under certain loads.

Checked the game settings and adjusted the frame cap to unlimited. Verified with a G-sync monitor that framecap or v-sync is off in games.

It's not accurate. Running at the highest possible refresh rate can cause GSync issues and tearing. Various techniques exist, but I've relied on the -2 maximum refresh rate setting since early 2016 with my first GSync monitor. It's remained consistent after numerous system updates and across different displays, proving reliable for me. Some recommend maintaining the same cap while turning on VSync plus Ultra Low Latency at the driver level. In either case, avoid rendering beyond the display's maximum refresh rate to stay within GSync limits.

Uncapped delivers 180 fps, yet the quiet sections fall to 100 and the 0.1 remains uneven, making capping much steadier.

I didn't realize it, I've always kept G-sync on and used maximum settings without issues. Even when my displayed frames per second far exceeded my monitor's refresh rate, G-sync handled it smoothly. I was certain the main benefit of G-sync was eliminating the need for manual caps.

Are there things happening in the game when the lows happen? If you're getting it frequently and it is making playing the game unpleasant to play, then worth looking into. But, if the game is mostly fine, then I wouldn't bother. Most of the reviews I've seen say that the game is well optimised and I don't remember anyone complaining about inconsistent framerates and stuttering

Yes, GSync functions only when operating within the VRR zone. The highest value in that zone is always the display's maximum refresh rate.

They function by matching the number of frames displayed per second, not just the refresh rate. When FPS exceeds the refresh rate, the system still tries to maintain synchronization by adjusting timing, though performance may suffer.

It may occur during casual movement in a circle rather than combat, and even later in battles it shows erratic CPU activity with usage reaching up to 80%. However, the frame rate stays around 60, which doesn’t improve things. While it seems smooth overall, focusing only on low frames makes it look perfect, even though the performance isn’t ideal.

This game is only 12 days old, which might mean it's not fully optimized yet.
